Virginia Public Sector Leader II
Intended for emerging leaders
The VPSL II Curriculum features:

Emotional Intelligence – using the MBTI (level 2) and EQ 360 self-assessment instruments to understand self; and, using self-awareness to develop appreciation for strengths and diversity of others

Management Functions – understanding human capital management processes and functions; exploring succession planning and capacity building; learning adaptive writing styles using agency artifacts (sample exemplars); and, developing capacity in public speaking

Leadership and Decision-Making – reviewing and analyzing operations budget at the organizational and facility levels; and, linking budgets (human, operations, and capital outlay) to vision, mission, and goals

Team Building and Influence – learning dynamic managing and leading roles; clarifying and practicing coaching and mentoring skills; and, creating and deploying “low-cost / no-cost” mini-lectures and training for in-house programming

Strategic Leadership – introducing strategic planning and project management concepts; engaging others in processes to address mission and vision priorities
